The Truck Studio is drop-in art program designed for children in grades K5-5, although older siblings are welcome. Each visit begins with an A.W.E. artist reading aloud a story or two and then discussing the book or illustrator. Participants will then work on imaginative art activities relevant to the book or artistic theme for the day. This is a great opportunity to be creative, try new techniques and have fun expressing your artistic point of view. Everyone gets to take home their creations!

LBWN founder and sponsor, the School Sisters of Saint Francis, invites neighborhood residents to this event “Now is not the time to be indifferent”. Come hear first-hand immigrant testimonies and presentation from immigration experts.
Hiking or snowshoeing, a roaring campfire and marshmallows, toasty warming shelters, a pizza buffet, hot chocolate, and churros await! The Hank Aaron State Trail will be lit with over 500 candles to welcome and guide explorers through this beautiful urban oasis.
FREE ENTRANCE! The candlelit route can be accessed from The Urban Ecology Center – Menomonee Valley or from Pizzeria 3301 at Villa Palermo.
This event is co-hosted by Urban Ecology Center, Menomonee Valley Partners, and Friends of Hank Aaron State Trail.

The English Language Partners of Wisconsin (ELPW) offers English classes with no per-class cost, just a $10.00 registration fee to reserve your place. Conversation classes with native English speakers are also available.
You can sign up for classes on their website at www.elpw.org/learn-english, or by attending one of the registration nights: TBD.
ELPW is also seeking volunteers to serve as English tutors. Spanish skills are not required. This is a great opportunity to connect with immigrants and play a vital role in improving someone’s life! Sign up on our website at www.elpw.org/volunteer.
